Avoid Disappointment When You Buy Gourmet Coffee Online

When you buy gourmet coffee online, it’s always something of a risk. How many times have you ordered a gourmet coffee online, waited weeks for it to arrive, eagerly brewed yourself a cup and…ugh. Not quite the delectable flavor the website promised. It doesn’t have to be this way, though.

cuppaBeware of ad speak
The writers who dream up gourmet coffee product descriptions are well paid to find just the right words to make you feel you’re relaxing in a Vienna cafe inhaling the aroma of that freshly brewed blend with a smooth note of Madagascar vanilla and a hint of exotic Caribbean rum. In reality, though, the writers may or may not have tasted the coffee they’re describing so delectably and even if they have, it could taste completely different to you. So, try not to put too much stock in the descriptions; just use them as rough guides.

Read the reviews
One of the great things about the internet is the power it gives us to connect with others when we need information. Before you buy gourmet coffee online, take the time to search for the name of the coffee company and the blend you’re interested in. Use a phrase like, “Black Cat Coffee Brazilian Breeze Blend review.” If you can’t find reviews of the coffee you want, try to find something about the company. That will give you an indication of their quality standards.

Order a sampler
While many companies offer free single-cup samples, even those small, specialty coffee companies that can’t afford freebies usually offer gourmet coffee samplers. These typically contain usually around six to 10 half-pound bags of a variety of coffees. To help you decide, most samplers are composed by theme, such as dark roasts, coffees from a particular region, or the company’s best sellers.

Pick up something extra
The fact is, no amount of research and careful selection can 100% guarantee you’ll like the coffee you order. Fortunately, though, a lot of coffee companies also sell coffee mugs, coffee making accessories, gourmet chocolates, teas, and frappe mixes. When you buy gourmet coffee online, it’s a good idea pick up a little extra something like this so when your order arrives, even if the coffee isn’t a winner, at least you won’t have waited in vain.

Before you buy any coffee you’re not familiar with, look beyond the seller’s tempting description and browse around for a few good reviews instead. Choosing a few different blends along with some extra goodies like chocolate or tea can also help make sure you’re satisfied with your purchase when you buy gourmet coffee online.
